Virginia and I had a great time — highlights include:

  • Cruising down the Burgundy Canal on this barge. Burgundy is my favorite wine region in the world, and drinking these marvelous whites and reds with lunch and supper for three straight days while traveling through the countryside is a good thing.
  • Seeing Bob Mould in London, including catching up with Jason and goggling over the amazing show (setlist below). We also got to chat briefly with Bob, who was happy with the show, and Rich Morel, who I’m also a fan of.
  • Walking through the Louvre — literally through: we didn’t see a single painting, but we saw the building and the pyramids. We had gotten in that morning, and basically dragged ourselves up toward the Arc de Triomphe, but didn’t quite make it. We got to have a great look around, though.
  • Finding a place to eat in the guide book and having it turn out to be true. We had three hours to wait for our train at Gare Lyon and decided to cross the river and wander around. The guide book steered us to Le Boisson Ardent, where we sat outside, enjoyed lunch, and watched Paris.

Now to get back to the normal routine and re-reset my internal clock.
