it's november already?

<![CDATA[ I realized that I hadn't written a word here for two months, on politics or otherwise. Sep/Oct in a nutshell:

• Started school. Just getting a handle on scheduling's been difficult -- anyon have any suggestions?
• Saw Bob Mould and band again, this time in Chicago. It was my brother's first time seeing BM; I'm glad he liked it.
• Saw Richard Thompson play. He's one of the best guitarists out there, admired by rock and folk artists alike.
• Went to a reading/signing by Neil Gaiman, in support of his new book. The reading was well worth the trip to the suburbs (1 hour by train).
• Watched the Harriet Miers saga play out without too much trepidation. Of course, Alito falls into the "smart and evil" category -- we'll see how the committee hearings go.
